Joining a credit union offers ownership, voting rights and participation in a community-focused financial institution.

Saltibus Credit Union, initially limited to affiliates of Saltibus and its environs, has expanded membership to individuals throughout St. Lucia. To become a member, one is required to submit a completed membership application form with two forms of identification, most recent pay slip, job letter, and proof of address and purchase a minimum of $200.00EC permanent shares and pay a $5.00 entrance fee. For persons who are members of other credit unions, an FSRA Dual Membership Form must be completed and submitted as well.

Permanent Shares are what are called equity shares; it is the amount that the shareholder puts as his quota to finance the business. Permanent shares are non-withdrawable, unless the individual wishes to close their account.
